Just some random thoughts about NYC and New Orleans on 9/11.
9/11 was a complete sucker punch to NYC, killing nearly three thousand people without warning, causing the stock market to plummet, instantly devastating the local and world economy, while creating massive panic and confusion.
Despite all this, NYC came together... The NYPD and NYFD heroically stepped up to perform above and beyond their call of duty in an effort to save lives. The residents of NYC, and the surrounding areas, although panicked, came forward to help anyway they could. After an initial call for blood donations, local blood centers were overwhelmed. People immediately wanted to help, even though it had not yet been established how people could. There was no looting, there were no corrupt cops taking advantage of the situation. In the aftermath of terror, NYC stood united.
To contrast this, New Orleans had 5 days notice Katrina was coming. For 50 years, the state of Louisiana resisted the federal government’s efforts to upgrade existing damns and levies. The mayor ordered city buses NOT be used to evacuate people prior to the storm, as he awaited for the federal government to supply greyhounds. Within the hurricane shelters, New Orleans residents committed numerous rapes and murders. In the wake of the hurricane, residents took the streets looting. But not just the residents... New Orleans police utilized the confusion to loot as well... in uniform no less! That is to say, the New Orleans police which did not go AWOL after the storm… which many of them did. Not so heroic. New Orleans broke into complete chaos. Martial Law had to be declared to control and an out of control population which had turned on itself, in the face of a crisis, it could have avoided.
I recently watched a documentary following up on Katrina victims in New Orleans. Residents walked around bitching to a camera how they hadn't gotten their FEMA trailer yet.. or how their how home hadn't been rebuilt for them. One thing I noticed though... most of these people were walking around with beer in their hands as they complained how they still had no homes. It seems after the National Guard was called in to stop the looting, rapes, and murders... people again felt somewhat safe, and decided to live off their FEMA checks, and sit around and drink. Living off government money, and drinking all day does not rebuild homes or cities. And I have to say, I’ve grown tired of hearing these people cry out for help and assistance. Don't get me wrong, I did volunteer with the Salvation Army to help bring these people supplies after the storm. But when these people can't help themselves, what do they want from the rest of the country? I guess what I’m trying to say is… Bourbon Street was fun, I guess. But New Orleans was a dirty Shit hole then, and it’s a bigger one now. And until the people of New Orleans can rise up, and show the same unity and courage in the face of disaster as the people of NYC… I say fuck’em. And they can kiss my ass instead of whining.

I was unfortunate enough to have seen about 5 minutes of the Andy Milonakis show today. Wow. Here you have 28 year old fat fuck, pretending to be a 14 year old, that acts like a 5 year old. You might remember him as the big gay fat kid that sang about the superbowl being gay... yah. Anyhow. He's a fat retarded fuck, and his show sucks, and will most likely be cancled shortly. Therefore, I'd like to extend the invitation to andy, to fight the whiteboyz crew, on video. Yes, Andy. This is an official invitation to a death match. Most likely, you will lose, and we will kick your teeth out, and break your ribs, amongst other things. However, we will be more then happy to sign a release allowing you to air this video on the final eppisode of your show. For sure, accepting this challenge is the only way you will ever get any ratings.
